New Home Construction

Every fairy needs a home in which to live and dance and whatever else fairies do.  While shopping both the internet and local brick and mortar establishments that sell these miniature abodes I found that the housing market for fairies was vast but expensive.  After perusing the many DIY pages on Pinterest concerning the construction of homes I found a discarded clay pot that had a perfectly placed break in the side that could be used as a "door" for a fairy.

Next I gathered the supplies needed to transform this seemingly worthless pot into a home.  I found tree bark at the kids' house around their woodpile and after a quick trip to Walmart I had moss and pebbles and was ready to begin.  The only other thing I needed was my trusty hot glue gun.

I began by cutting out a piece of the moss for the "thatched roof".  Then I glued a piece of bark on either side of the opening.  Then I just began gluing pebbles to the side of the pot.

The small gaps between the pebbles were easily filled with more moss.

It really went fast and the sky is the limit.  You could add all kinds of flowers or gemstones to the pot.  I just wanted a "woodsy" look to my fairy home.  Time will tell how well it will hold up outside in the Fairy Garden.  I'll keep you posted.

The home is finished.  Now I just need to landscape.  Stay tuned!
